
CITRUS
Gisborne and the Poverty Bay area is New Zealands largest citrus growing area. With a temperate coastal climate it lends itself to growing nearly all varieties. The region boasts a total planted area of some 800ha and over 200 growers.

SUB TROPICALS
This group of products incorporates a diverse group of varieties all grown in and around Gisborne. With the exception of Persimmons and Kiwifruit these items are primarily for domestic market supply.

SOFT FRUIT
In an endeavour to ensure 12 month supply to international customers and keep a focus on our core products First Fresh has added a range of soft fruit products to it’s portfolio. In most cases these are sourced from grower-packers outside of the Gisborne region and compliment our supply during the November to April period. We are currently sourcing the following products. Fruit is presented as under the FIRST label or under the growers’ own label.

VEGETABLES
The Poverty Bay 'flats' boast some of the most fertile soils in the country and are ideally suited to a range of vegetable crops. In addition, Asparagus is sourced from the Waikato region.
With the exception of Asparagus all of the other vegetable crops are harvested and marketed on the local market during the December to March period.
